Bastille - Special Edition: French Christmas Market

This year, the annual Food, Wine & Arts Revolution is swapping its traditional Beret for a Christmas hat to return just in time for Christmas, with an array of amazing French Wines and delicious food from Friday, the 17th, to Monday, the 20th of December 2021 in Front of Customs House.

If you're not familiar with it yet, the Bastille Festival is a French cultural celebration held each July and around Bastille Day. This free-entry Festival is a huge celebration of Food, Wine & Arts happening around Circular Quay. This year, for obvious reasons, the event had to shift its dates and the organisers decided to bring an amazing French Christmas Market experience to Sydney, just in time for you to buy great food, wine and gifts before Christmas.

The market will be celebrating the beginning of the school holidays and kick-off the festive season with a jam-packed 4 full-days of French Christmas Market "Folies" and it’s entirely free to attend.
With more than 50 pop-up art & craft and wine & food stalls, you'd better start preparing your stomachs for a Food & Wine Feast.

From the traditional Crepes, to the so delicious Raclette or the traditional French “Pizzas” from the south and the east of France, you are about to start the festivities ! The wine bars will put in the spotlight 5 French wine regions from Bordeaux, to Burgundy, Provence, Alsace and Rhone Valley : 45 extraordinary wines selected to be tasted.

This special Edition of Bastille, French Christmas Market will give an opportunity to over 50 small businesses, artisans, artists, who suffered tremendously over the last 18 months to exhibit and showcase their savoir faire, in the heart of the city - it’s literally Christmas shopping with good vibes, good food & wine and music."

This December - The Return of The Famous :
Champagne & Oyster Bar Experience by Pistou Restaurant & Deli.
This Christmas, make sure to visit the Champagne and Oyster Bar. The team behind “Pistou” Restaurant has imagined amazing ways to enjoy Oysters this summer and created especially for the event a unique street degustation experience :

Champagne Mignonette (shallots & Champagne)
Apple & Lemon (Fresh apple, organic apple cider vinegar and lemon)
Provencal (Parsley, capers & Lemon)
Bloody Mary (Vodka, tomato juice and Celery)

*Oysters will also be available on take away to bring home.

True oyster fans will surely want to try them all - matched with a flute of French Champagne, it will be an absolutely stellar pairing. You will feel whisked away to the beaches of Arcachon with this unique combo. However, the location will be the envy of the French Coast, as we'll be situated at Circular Quay, featuring breathtaking views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
