Becoming Us talk

Nevo Zisin (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, Jewish writer, performer, activist and speaker based in Naarm/ Birraranga / Melbourne. They run school workshops and workplace professional development around transgender identities, and wrote the award-winning Finding Nevo (2017), a memoir on gender transition and The Pronoun Lowdown (2021) a guide to all things pronouns.

Adolfo Aranjuez's artistic practice spans essays, poetry and dance. His work has been published in Meanjin, Right Now, The Lifted Brow, Cordite and Growing Up Queer in Australia, and he has choreographed and performed for ABC TV, Dance Massive, Federation Square, Midsumma, MOD. Museum and Human Rights Arts & Film Festival.

Frances Cannon is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on the body and the psyche. Founder of the Self Love Club, a tattoo movement celebrating self-acceptance, Frances has worked with Teen-Vogue, Gucci, Refinery 29, Third Drawer Down, and been published in Vogue, Frankie, Yen, Teen-Vogue, Bustle, HuffPost, Dazed & Confused, SBS Australia, i-D Mag and Rookie.

Jax Jacki Brown (they/them) is a disability and LGBTIQA+ rights activist, writer, and educator. Jax works as a senior advisor in disability for a large health organisation as well as running their own business in LGBTIQA+ disability rights and inclusion, providing guest speaking, education, workshops and training. Jax has a rambunctious 3 year old with their partner and lives in a leafy suburb of Melbourne where they fly the rainbow flag flamboyantly and proudly.
