Welcome to BREC’s International Film Festival – Summer 2021
In our 29th year of hosting independent cinema, BREC and our partners invite you to explore the world without leaving home, with another stunning line-up of diverse films from around the globe.

The BREC International Film Festival opens Thursday 7th January, with multiple sessions running each day Thursday to Sunday, with the Festival closing Sunday 31st January. Due to COVID-19 requirements, capacity in the Cube is limited and seating is allocated, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment at the door.

The Sky Bar and Box Office open one hour before the first screening of the day. Why not catch up with friends on our balcony, or take in the sounds and tastes of summer with our Festival Extras. Arrive early or stay late – we are here for you.

New in 2021 – we invite you to join the BREC Film Conversation Club. Every week, immediately after the 2pm Saturday screening, join other BREC film buffs in the Sky Bar for a book club style conversation about the film you have just seen. Love it? Hate it? Puzzled or provoked by it? Share your thoughts (respectfully) with others and enjoy the diverse perspectives of your fellow cinephiles. A special guest facilitator, bringing an extra perspective to the discussion, hosts each session. Come alone or with friends – all are welcome and no bookings are necessary.

Taste summer in the Sky Bar with locally made gelato or a glass of South West wine, while you kick back and enjoy live music from local musicians.
