It's the most wonderful time of the year! Join us for an evening of festive cheer, as Luminescence lead a special Christmas concert at Simply for Strings. Music lovers and Christmas enthusiasts of all ages are warmly welcome to join us carolling in the wondrous acoustics of the old church.

ABOUT LUMINESCENCE
Luminescence are a Brisbane (Meanjin) based string group exploring the crevices between classical, contemporary and experimental performance. The group is made up of two cellists (Emma Hales and Anitah Kumar) and two violinists (Liz Young and Toukie Wood) who are passionate about taking their traditional instruments into unconventional spaces.

Luminescence are constantly innovating with their performance through collaboration, design, audience interaction, and a breathtaking program of contemporary music, showcasing internationally acclaimed composers, Brisbane’s own creative talents and genre-bending originals.

Since coming together in 2018, Luminescence have worked on projects with a spectrum of creatives - from visual artist and designer, Chris Mangos, to indie-psych outfit, The Jensens - and have joined the line ups of Jungle Love Festival, Brisbane Street Art Festival, GOMA Up Late, Yonder Festival and Anywhere Festival.
