Come In to My World explores the moment when life is changed by illness, an accident, a decision to walk away from what you knew, the moment when life decisions were made, moments that you work with each and every day because of the profession you chose or and a life you were born into. And how society reacted, how those reactions affected all of our storytellers – and how they overcame some of the biggest obstacles in life. And can also help us by understanding the depth of human strength – view life in a completely different way.

This new production takes a deep look at six people who have extraordinary stories to tell. With the help of some of Queensland’s most exceptional songwriters they will also have their story told in song and audiences will hear and see how the emotion of their story is encapsulated by the songwriter.

2020 was a year where we all needed to look deeply within ourselves and the people around us – and at our humanity. At what life really means to us. What we are able to adapt to. How we can adapt. There are so many who had this experience way before most of us. They lived through extraordinary challenges for much of their lives. We see what life’s treasures really are – and how we treasure and celebrate everyday people. Come Into My World is about listening, celebrating, adapting, changing – but most of all understanding and learning how we can all be a part of a greater humanity. And how that enriches all of our lives.

Featuring the stories of... Kiah Abbott, Riad Jaber, Polly Bray, Kendall Layt, Rose Pearse & Sharon Mununggurr.

With songwriters... Roz Pappalardo, Deb Suckling, Nikolaine Martin, Shellie Morris, Lucinda Shaw & Shellie Evans.
