Jackie Bornstein

Jackie Bornstein brings her rich vocals and top band to Paris Cat Jazz Club for a celebration of the great Billie Holiday.

Exploring the life work of Lady Day, Jackie will perform songs of love, sorrow, joy and protest from Billie Holiday's iconic recordings; moving and whimsical tunes composed by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, by Billie herself and more.

Also featuring the exciting guitarist James Sherlock (Katie Noonan, James Taylor, Cyrille Aimee), masterful bassist Ben Hanlon (MSO, Bopstretch, Joe Chindamo) and in-demand drummer Daniel Farrugia (Luke Howard Trio, The Bamboos, Missy Higgins).

"An enchanting vocalist and captivating storyteller" - Australian Jazz

Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne's most captivating singers and is a regular at Melbourne's top jazz venues. She secured sold-out shows at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Kew Court House and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival several years running. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie performs with a selection of Australia's finest musicians. Jackie was awarded a 2021 City of Melbourne Arts Grant for her project 'Women in Jazz: An Invitation to Freedom' which will see her developing a book and releasing an album later this year.
