“War, what is it good for?” That’s the thought that popped into Fady Kassab’s head as he stood in front of a tank as a young child. Now, more than 30 years later, he has the answer: “Stand-up comedy!”

Don’t miss the 2019 winner of triple j’s prestigious RAW Comedy competition and grand finalist of the UK’s most influential comedy comp So You Think You’re Funny, which launched the careers of the likes of Dylan Moran, Lee Mack, Graham Norton and Hannah Gadsby, as he makes his solo debut at the 2021 Sydney Comedy Festival!

A child of 17 years of the war of in Lebanon, in his debut solo show Fady flashes back to bitter-sweet, funny childhood memories that are constantly reflected in his daily life in Australia.

The former SBS Radio Arabic program host has seen his share of wild, turbulent times in the Middle East, a region that keeps on giving… great material. With horrifyingly funny tales about growing up in a war zone, migrating, seamlessly blending into Australian culture and the storm that is war, migration, racism, marriage, kids, separation, dating and survival, the rapidly rising star is a comic to set your sights on. Well, not literally.

Don’t miss Fady as he launches his first full show at Sydney
