Celebrate International Women’s Day with us at Gasworks and be inspired by three generations of dynamic Australian women. Casting off stereotypes, they tumble, talk, fly, and balance precariously.

Intergenerational circus with lots to say: the personal is political, fury is fun and the acrobatics downright dangerous – especially when life gets in the way. A disarming, hilarious show about living on the edge and talking about it; and how it’s easier done than said. Circus that makes you laugh and cry simultaneously! Relaxed, personal and fantastically inappropriate.

Winner: Best Circus (Melbourne Fringe 2018 and Edinburgh Fringe 2018)
Weekly & Overall Winner: BankSA Best Circus & Physical Theatre Award (Adelaide Fringe 2019)

“the least showy and most breath-taking circus performance you will ever see… three athletes challenge convention with kindness and humour, entertain without arrogance and present an ideal of non-judgemental sisterly support that will brighten up your day.” 5★ - Emily Campion, The 730 Review

“excels at subverting expectations… has just about everything you could hope for. It is laugh-out-loud funny. It is motivational. It is intelligent. And, with mind-blowing trapeze stunts, it is testament to what the human body can do.” 4.5★ - Morgan Laing, Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“shatters the stereotypes around people of varying ages, abilities, and agilities… the true meaning of what it's like to be fierce, formidable, and feisty as heck.” 4.5★ - Tema, Weekend Notes

“Casting Off is a joy: these three wonderful women have knitted together a truly extraordinary piece of feisty feminist circus that is fabulously funny to boot!” - Dorothy Max Prior, Total Theatre
