Earth is a term from the highly sensitive literature. Earth helps you to feel better, to get a better feeling for yourself and your needs. It is not only interesting for the highly sensitive. Many people today lack enough "ground liability" to take good care of themselves, whether highly gifted, creative, screen takers, couch potatoes, fidgety etc.

What does "earth" mean? Grounding or grounding is an expression that more frequently encountered in the literature about hypersensitivity. But it does not just have to be interesting for highly sensitive people.

He means something like:
- To come out of the head and a very top-heavy lifestyle
- To develop more intuition for your own body and its needs
- To send more mental energy to the ground and to anchor itself in it

Rolf Sellin calls this also centering. Who is centered, is in contact with himself and mentally and emotionally where he is, namely in his body. Whoever is not, is energetic, with his thoughts and feelings everywhere, only not with himself. (See literature below.)

Why and for whom does this make sense? Many highly sensitive people have a so-called delimited self. That is, they are very easily resonant with others through their neural nature; they are in constant mental and emotional contact with others. They often know much better how their fellow human beings are and what they need and want, how they feel about themselves and what they need and want for themselves. They "live too much in the head", because the head is responsible with his sense organs for this resonance and attachment to their fellow human beings. What they often lack, however, is a healthy sense of the body and the knowledge of their body, which would do him and thus themselves good.

Highly gifted people are naturally very much, sometimes too much "in the head on the way". The same applies to the so-called "scanner" so-called by the well-known author Barbara Sher, for many creative people with their rich imagination and their ideas, and certainly also for many, many other people.

All of this can lead to a lack of balance between body and mind, a lack of awareness of the body and a lack of control of the body. And this can then result, for example:
- A decline in motor skills: Already over 15 years ago, a kindergarten teacher told me that many children have less and less body feeling, for example, cannot play a role backwards, cannot fall skillfully, cannot go backwards.
- An Increase in Psychosomatic Diseases: Those who have good contact with their body can feel what is good for them and what is not. Wherever this contact is lost, psychosomatic and other illnesses accumulate. The warning signals sent by the body to draw attention to grievances are not heard or ignored. Your own intuition remains crippled or ignored.
- A decline of "viability": Who is too much in the head, in ideas and ideas or of course in the media on the way, is in danger of losing himself in dream worlds, to live past the reality, to be little in the here and now. But ideas and ideas need a solid foundation. Where vital necessities are not sufficiently available, one's own existence is at stake.
- A loss of one's own ego: He who does not perceive himself too little and feels his own needs too little, can also make his life less like this, less concern for what he or she does well, less represent his own interests. Although the existence is not necessarily at stake here, but the personal satisfaction and quality of life, your own happiness—and of course health again.
