Captivating singer Jackie Bornstein enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone. She is a regular fixture on the Melbourne Jazz scene with sold-out performances at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Kew Court House and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival several years running. Jackie was also awarded a 2021 City of Melbourne Arts Grant for her project Women in Jazz: An Invitation to Freedom which will see her developing a book and releasing an album later this year.
Jackie is thrilled to share the stage with two of Australia’s finest guitarists: James Sherlock (Katie Noonan, MSO, James Taylor, Cyrille Aimee) and Nathan Slater (La Rumba, One night in Buenos Aires, Ross James Irwin)
Jackie leads her colleagues in a mixture of swing, bossa nova, neuvo cancion, chanson and pop. Featuring composers from across the globe including Duke Ellington, Kurt Weill, Peggy Lee, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sting, Violetta Parra, Edith Piaf and more. The program highlights Jackie’s rich voice and versatility and the distinctive sounds of both esteemed guitarists.
