Captivating singer Jackie Bornstein enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone, sharing the stage with three superb Australian guitarists: James Sherlock, Sorcha Albuquerque and Nathan Slater.

Performing in duo and as a quartet, Jackie leads her colleagues in a mixture of swing, neuvo cancion, pop, chanson and bossa nova songs. The program highlights Jackie’s rich voice and versatility and the distinctive sounds of each esteemed guitarist. Enjoy tunes by Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington, Bill Withers, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sting, Violetta Parra, Edith Piaf and more.

Jackie Bornstein (voice)
Jackie is a regular fixture on the Melbourne Jazz scene with sold out performances at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Kew Court House and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival several years running. She has developed her own style utilizing varied vocal timbres and enjoys exploring a broad repertoire that sees her singing in French, Portuguese, Spanish and English.

James Sherlock (guitar)
James is one of Australia’s most exciting jazz guitarists, a true craftsman of songs possessing beauty and depth. He has performed with the MSO, guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor, Katie Noonan, New York jazz vocalist Sheila Jordan, French jazz singer and rising star Cyrille Aimee, and a list of Australia’s finest.

Sorcha Albuquerque (guitar)
Now Melbourne based, Sorcha is a WAAPA graduate and has shared the stage with notable musicians including Jonathan Zwartz, Jake Mason, Julien Wilson, and NYC based jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein. Sorcha’s original compositions have been featured on ABC Jazztrack and on the ABC release ‘Jazz Calls: Best of Australian Jazz'.

Nathan Slater (guitar)
Nathan is a virtuosic and original guitar player who draws upon the traditions of jazz, flamenco, tango, and Brazilian music. He has performed/recorded with such artists as La Rumba, One night in Buenos Aires, Ross James Irwin, and Australian tango Champion dancers Fabio Roble and Ana Andre.
