Fancy channelling Gatsby vibes and stepping into the world of the 1920s flapper? Join Lorraine White Heritage Corsetry Artisan in this two-day workshop held at Cobb+Co Museum as we work from a 1929 vintage pattern to create your very own authentic 1920s costume slip. Drafted to your measurements and completed in a delicious silk/cotton voile, this piece will make you the envy of vintage-loving enthusiasts!
This 2-day workshop will focus on drafting a basic slip block to your personal measurements using industry-standard materials and drafting techniques, from which you’ll complete a toile sample.
All experience levels are welcome, but a basic knowledge of machine sewing is recommended. There will also be some "light math" involved.
All materials and machinery are provided to complete your outfit and a small class size guarantees individual attention for the best possible results.
Equipment to bring with you - your sharpest sewing scissors and a pair of paper cutting scissors, berry/pearl head pins, a measuring tape, calculator, a fineliner in red & black and a 2B pencil.
Cost includes materials, catering of morning tea and lunch and tuition for two days.
Booking: Call 07 4659 4900 to book over the phone, or email inquiries@cobbandco.qm.qld.gov.au for more information.
