Chamber-pop aficionados Melbourne Amplified Strings (MAS) are bringing an exciting new performance showcasing electronic effects, live looping and string instruments to Kew Court House on Friday 2 July, which will be the first time Boroondara Arts will welcome audiences back to the venue since before the pandemic.
Utilising a fusion of technologies, audiences will experience an energised exploration of amplified music for a night of stunning sounds. Co-founded by violinist Xani Kolac and cellist Anita Quayle, Melbourne Amplified Strings was created to celebrate and explore the versatility of their instruments, with an open invitation for other contemporary musicians to join them.
This performance will feature special guest collaborators Mindy Meng Wangon guzheng and Sarita McHarg on sitar. Audiences can expect to be invigorated by an evening of contemporary music at Kew Court House with Melbourne Amplified Strings’ innovative performance.
