Moral Fairground presents ‘Mother’s Day at the Convent’, a special Mother’s Day experience at the Abbotsford Convent, a beautiful historical location in Abbotsford surrounded by lush gardens and jaw-dropping architecture. On Sunday 9th May, celebrate both Mother’s Day and World Fairtrade Day with an experience that blends a experience of both intertwined. Fun for the whole family, a special day to treat Mum, with a wide range of all inclusive activities and entertainment that includes; a Mother’s Day Tea Party with catering provided by the Convent Bakery, a MARKETPLACE of 20 unique stalls open for both general public and event goers, a Fair Trade Flower wall installation provided by FairTrade of Australian and New Zealand, free gifts for mum, giveaways, speakers, and much more to be announced.

During the Mother’s Day Tea Party, we have speakers from fair trade organisations to speak about themselves, their organisations, and the Fair Trade Movement. Our speakers include; Molly Harriss Olson - CEO of Fairtrade of Australia and New Zealand, a full and active member of Fairtrade International. Fairtrade ANZ is responsible for providing support to producer organisations in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands that aim to access the Fairtrade System, Cynthia Cheong - Secretary in the Executive Committee team for the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand, a not for profit membership organisation comprising businesses and individuals who support the Fair Trade Vision. Fair Trade empowers disadvantaged artisans, workers and farmers, especially in developing countries to create their own sustainable livelihoods through employment, regular income, improved working conditions and more direct access to markets, and Nicole Lamond - Founder of Universal Village, a fair trade tea company that develops fair trade tea products, where Nicole gets to combine her passion for entrepreneurship, ethics, and delicious teas.

Treat your Mum this Mother’s Day with a lovely day out at the Abbotsford Convent and experience it’s breathtaking architecture and gardens during a lovely tea party, find her the perfect gift in our marketplace, and experience a day of celebration of the Fair Trade Movement. An event for families of all sizes, to celebrate our wonderful and amazing mothers. #buildbackfairer #fairtradelocal
