Mother's Day at The Farmers' Market

Treat mum to beautiful local blooms, gin and tonic marmalade, honey cakes, breakfast by Masterchef’s Poh and smoked salmon and poached egg waffles at the Farmers’ Market this Mothers’ Day

Support local farming families when you shop small and local this Mothers’ Day. For a relaxed morning for all the family, head to Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market where you can enjoy great coffee, then let mum choose from the smoked salmon and poached free-range egg polenta waffles special at Kuhl Kooking or one of Poh Ling Yeow’s tempting treats at JamFace for breakfast.

Sustainably grown local flowers look lovelier and last longer and both the Rich Pickings and Gooseberry Hill Farms stalls will have plenty of stunning bouquets to choose from. If you are looking to spoil Mum at home there’s free-range heritage bacon and sausages by The Dairy Man Baross and San Jose Smallgoods, pastured free-range eggs by Riverside Farms and Feather & Peck Eggs, freshly baked croissants by Croissant d’Or (including vegan options) and gluten-free muffins at Just Gluten Free for an indulgent breakfast in bed. Everything at the market is locally grown and made and is sold by the farming families who grow it, raise it, make it and bake it.

There are so many great gifts to choose from at the market, including: limited edition pink gin by Ginny Pig Distillery, gin and tonic marmalade by FIAJE Preserves and hand made five-layer Slavic honey cake by Lato Cakery.

At 9.30 am little shoppers can make Mum a beautiful upcycled bead wall-hanging in our Kids’ Club with help from Monina of Green Gecko Studios (we ask for a gold coin donation to cover material costs). There will also be a free fun cooking demonstration at 11 am where resident foodie Chrissy Rob will demonstrate her failsafe vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe.
