Martinu in Market July Market Sunday Concert

The Music on a Market Sunday Concert on 12 July at 12:30pm in the Uniting Church will feature the brilliant Sonata for Flute, Violin and Piano performed by Chris Clark, Robyn Bradley and Sofia Debus. The program will be filled out with performances of music by Prokofiev, Ravel, Faurè and Raff by winners of the 2021 Armidale Eisteddfod New England Championship, New England String Age Championship (13-15 years) and Tamworth Instrumental Championship: Chiyo Brown, Andrew Clark and Oscar Gates.

Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů’s Sonata for Flute, Violin and Piano, was composed in Paris in 1936 and is a beguiling mix of scintillating bravura, whimsy and lyricism.

Flautist Chris Clark is the recently appointed CEO of the New England Conservatorium of Music, Sofia Debus and Robyn Bradley are two of Armidale’s most accomplished musicians and this concert is a great opportunity to hear the three of them in ensemble.

Admission to the concert is free, though donations are encouraged with some proceeds being donated to BackTrack.
