The end of the lockdown in February is something to celebrate at Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28 February 2021 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Hardey McMurrick Two and Greg Cunningham.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes back Hardey McMurrick Two and Greg Cunningham to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

The Hardey McMurrick Two combine blues, folk, jazz, old time americana, spoken word and hip hop into new musical directions. Their instruments include double bass, banjo ukulele, resonator guitar, harmonica and vocals with a little bit of humour. Comprising self-taught song writer Hardey McMurrick and academy trained accompanist/collaborator Seb Davidson, the two create together between their numerous other artistic projects ranging from industrial sculpture building to physical comedy, to lock down their shared passions into playing original music they dearly love. They have released an EP called Rain and have been playing a diverse range of gigs from Ellingtons Jazz Club to the Fairbridge Festival, the Albany Harbourside concert series to the Boston Brewery, Denmark South West of WA.

Greg Cunningham has been playing music for over 35 years in various forms with a current focus on country blues. Greg is a masterful player of a variety of instruments including finger picking guitar, slide, banjo, mandolin and harmonica. Greg has also been part of the release of a number of CD’s. Currently Greg has been playing in two acts, Second Wind an acoustic blues trio and Flame Tail Creek an Americana blues country four piece. Greg has played well received past performances at Perth Folk and Roots Club and also a radio co host for the Folk and Stuff show for Kalamunda Community Radio.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
