Adopt Different: PETstock Assist celebrates inaugural National Pet Adoption Month 2021

Throughout March 2021, PETstock Assist will celebrate its inaugural National Pet Adoption Month as an extension of its annual initiative National Pet Adoption Day, to help change the lives of rescue pets and humans in an effort to help break the cycle of pet homelessness in Australia.

Over the past six years, PETstock Assist has helped rehome more than 12,000 animals through its initiative and changed perceptions and behaviour on pet adoption in Australia by providing much needed education on the topic.

PETstock Assist is encouraging would-be pet owners to Adopt Different this March – to adopt a new way of thinking when it comes to rescue pets, shed unfair stereotypes and make considered, sustainable choices to find a pet best fit for their lifestyle.

New pet owners and animal lovers across Australian Capital Territory are being encouraged to engage with their local PETstock store and rescue group throughout March for further information on the adoption or fostering process.

PETstock Assist’s National Pet Adoption Month will take place throughout March 2021 and its seventh annual National Pet Adoption Day event will be held on Saturday 13 March 2021.

Who: Pet adoption experts from local partner animal rescue groups and rescue pets available for adoption or fostering will be in attendance at selected stores across Australian Capital Territory.

Why: PETstock Assist’s National Pet Adoption Month aims to educate and raise awareness of pet adoption and foster care placement throughout the month of March. The initiative hopes to encourage all Australians considering a new pet in 2021 to consider fostering or adopting a rescue pet in need of a loving home
