On June 22, 2011, we launched One Night Stand - this was our first party's opening paragraph...

"We're launching a new monthly warehouse shindig which showcases and celebrates the amazing DJ talent we have in this fair city! With one guest selector manning the decks from start to finish, prepare for some dancefloor experiences for the record books".

Over the years we entered many pages into those record books and One Night Stand has remained one of our most passionate and long lasting relationships with the dance floors of Sydney. Featuring sets by Tornado Wallace, Simon Cadlwell, Ben Fester, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Kali and many more it's been a pure celebration of Australian DJs with the exception of two life-affirming dances with the late - and extremely great - Andrew Weatherall and Ben UFO.

We're sure it's no surprise when we say it's our greatest pleasure to announce a series of One Night Stand 10th Birthday parties. The first with one with...

Mr Marcellus Pittman.

After two incredible international takeovers for our One Night Stand, we are very excited to hand the reins over to Detroit royalty, Marcellus Pittman. A music fanatic from childhood age, Marcellus “Malik” Pittman would play his radio at maximum volume, critiquing the likes of The Wizzard, and The Electrifying Mojo, and tuning his ear to the jazz outputs of Rosetta Hines.

Malik released his first piece of work in 1993 with local hip-hop collective “Home Grown”, and shortly followed it up with “Essential Selections, Vol. 1” on the Sound Signature label, headed by Theo Parrish. Malik then joined forces with Theo Parrish, Rick Wilhite and Kenny “Moodymann” Dixon, who became known as the 3 Chairs. These names helped define an integral part of the Detroit sound the world loves today.

Malik continues to foster the Detroit sound and bring it to stages all over the world through his label Unirhythm, and we are incredibly lucky to host him at Tokyo Sing Song for an indulgent all-nighter set.

The night - ie with you included - will be recorded live thanks to our friends at United We Stream and EMC Australia. One Night Stand will be broadcasted worldwide (baby) post IRL event. Exciting!
