Psychology Week 2021 is focusing on “Working Minds” in an effort to promote mentally healthy workplaces. If you have noticed you are feeling constantly stressed, tired, and discouraged in relation to your work, you may be on the path to burnout. Burnout is typically a gradual process that robs people of their passion, motivation, and energy. The negative effects of work-related burnout can then spill out into your social and home life. Whether you recognise the warning signs of impending burnout or you feel like you’re already experiencing it, trying to push through the emotional and physical exhaustion can cause further damage and require a longer recovery time. Come along to “Turning Down the Heat on Workplace Burnout” to learn more about identifying and preventing burnout by increasing professional self-care. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and general discussion, as well as actionable tips for managing burnout.
This talk is part of a series of “Psychology in the Pub” presentations, where psychologists present on a range of interesting and engaging topics related to mental health and psychological issues. Emma and Jess look forward to welcoming you to a fun and relaxing afternoon of learning!
