Glen Street Theatre and Little Match Productions present The Owl and The Pussycat, a new opera based on Edward Lear’s much-loved poem from the 14th to 17th July.

Adventure calls and love conquers all in this charming musical journey. Join the Owl and the Pussycat as they navigate the sea in a pea-green boat for a year and a day on their way to fair Bong-tree Bay.

A feel-good and nostalgic show, families will be transported to a world from their childhood, as a national team of award-winning artists led by director Dr Bridget Boyle (Out of The Box Festival, Brisbane Festival) and creative producer Alicia Cush (Little Match Productions Creative Director), bring one of the world’s most popular children’s poems to life.

Composed by Lisa Cheney (co-founder, Making Waves), with libretto and book by Brisbane-based playwright and actor Kathryn Marquet, this eccentric opera is bound to whisk audiences away with an irresistible blend of romance and nonsense.

The Owl and The Pussycat is suitable for children aged 4-10 years.

Tickets for The Owl and The Pussycat are available via the Glen Street Theatre website, and families can enjoy the experience with tickets reduced to the bargain $3 each when using their NSW Government Dine and Discover vouchers.
