Explore how ‘things’ and ‘images’ provoke a creative response to develop a personal creative written text. Learn how to apply a phenomenological theory method and respond to images and objects.
Please bring pen/pencil and paper/ notebook for writing by hand.
Note: a laptop may be used for part of the workshop, if desired, but pen and paper, (writing with the hand equipment) is essential.
You are welcome to bring an object or photograph to use in the workshop, but this is not essential.

Artist Bio

Dr Janet Lee is an award-winning writer. In 2017 she won the Emerging Queensland Writer category in the Queensland Literary Awards. Her winning historical fiction manuscript was published as The Killing of Louisa, by University of Queensland Press in 2018. The Killing of Louisa (UQP2018) was shortlisted for the 2019 Davitt Award, in two categories, and is now also available on audio book. Janet has also won multiple awards for her short stories. She has a Doctor of Creative Arts from the University of the Sunshine Coast and is a sessional tutor in Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Janet is currently completing her second novel.
