Carlton Baths Pride Party: CANCELLED

Following hugely successful events in 2019 and 2020, Carlton Baths is once again opening its doors to Melbourne’s queer community for an afternoon of live music by the pool and social activities in celebration of Midsumma Festival. On Sunday January 30th 2022, come and enjoy performances from your favourite LGBTQIA+ artists, connect with local community organisations and experience a range of fun, recreational activities throughout the centre.

From 1–4pm, a host of family-friendly activities will be on offer including indoor roller skating, inflatable pool obstacle course, live performances and more. The Pride Party Evening session will continue from 5–8pm, featuring live performances by the outdoor pool and the inaugural addition of Carlton Baths Drag Bingo. Our very own ‘Shulah the Sheilah’ returns to the decks for some cruisey dance tunes, with the full line-up to be announced via Carlton Baths’ social media.

Event attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Carlton Baths’ highly knowledgeable Fitness Professionals, as well as an array of organisations who will be on hand to share information about services within the local community. As a leader in the Health and Wellness industry, Carlton Baths acknowledged its responsibility in removing barriers to exercise for the LGBTQIA+ community. It is widely recognised that increased physical health can reduce the symptoms of poor mental health and at Carlton Baths this impact has been seen firsthand through the centre’s programs and services. The previous events were intended to open the doors to the LGBTQIA+ community and showcase Carlton Baths as a safe space, in order to remove some of the barriers they might feel when attending a recreation facility. With a huge swell of support and thanks from the community, Carlton Baths is excited to deliver the event on an even grander scale in 2022!
