Dawn Awakening on Sunday 4 September

After careful consultation with artists, creatives and suppliers, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Dawn Awakening, our closing event for Horizon Festival 2022.

This decision was not made lightly, but, the safety for both the artists and crew was priority, and installing this event in rain and strong winds is not possible.

We understand people will be extremely disappointed, we are too, but we are working on an alternative date and will notify all registered attendees via email of the postponement and new date once scheduled.

Event Overview:

- NOT REQUIRED TO PRESENT A TICKET - FREE EVENT - REGISTRATION ONLY -

Horizon Festival’s most celebrated and loved event, Dawn Awakening, returns in 2022.

Gather with us along the banks of Stumer’s Creek in Coolum as the first light rises and the voices of First Peoples call in a new energy for these times.

Together we will journey through story, dance, song, visual art projections, spoken word and fire installations, to reflect, strengthen and testify a flourishing connection to country, culture and each other.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- This is a free event, but registrations are essential. Numbers are limited and will reach capacity so get in early.

- Dawn Awakening will commence at 5am sharp, so please arrive early and make sure you are seated by 4.50am.

- Please bring warm clothes, rugs or a picnic chair to sit on. If you bring a chair we ask that you please sit to the back of the audience viewing area so that people seated on the ground can see.

- Photography without a flash is welcomed but we ask that you remain seated during the performance.

- A coffee van will be located in the carpark for warm drinks. You are welcome to bring your own warm drinks (in ecofriendly cups).
