With Mark Jones leading her swinging little 4 piece band - The Big Spenders

‘Fever’ is a tribute to the queen of sassy, sexy, sophisticated swing - Peggy Lee! Although she is probably best remembered for her finger-snapping style as she sang us the story of Romeo loving Juliet and Captain Smith’s little crush on Pocahontas, she is so much more than just the woman who gave us Fever!

She was also an Academy Award-nominated actress (The Jazz Singer, Pete Kelly’s Blues, Lady and the Tramp), a hit songwriter (Fever, It’s a Good Day, Mañana, He’s a Tramp) and of course she consistently topped the charts in the 50s and 60s with classic swingers like: Why Don’t You Do Right?, Mañana, Mr Wonderful, Black Coffee, Big Spender, The Lady is a Tramp, Hallelujah I Love Him So!, Is That All There Is? and Alright Okay You Win!

And let’s not forget that the feisty Miss Peggy was also the inspiration behind the creation of the greatest karate-chopping diva of all time – Miss Piggy!

Music Theatre star Anne Wood (Mamma Mia, Crazy for You, Beautiful, The Sound of Music) is no stranger to sassy, sexy sophistication herself! She’ll be bringing back ‘50s cool’ as she slips on her vintage kitten-heel pumps and counts in her swinging little 4-piece band ‘The Big Spenders’ for an evening of sultry swing, sly comedy songs, heartbreaking ballads and a whole lot of that Latin å la Lee!

So… Why Don’t You Do Right? and grab yourself a ticket to hear the wonderful Anne Wood as she pays tribute to the original Miss Wonderful – Peggy Lee!

Hallelujah, You’ll Just Love Her So!!

Duration: 75 minutes, no interval
