ANZ is celebrating 15-time Grand Slam singles winner and world number one quad tennis champion, Dylan Alcott OAM, with a 9x3 metre long mural located along Federation Square's River Terrace.

The unique mural, by Archibald prize nominated artist and friend of Alcott's, Felix Von Dallwitz, will be created using over 4000 tennis balls and is part of ANZ's financial wellbeing campaign running throughout the Australian Open tournament. The mural will be open to the public from 21-26 January 2022.

Having announced his retirement from tennis at the conclusion of the 2022 Australian Open, ANZ is celebrating Alcott as a long-time friend and ambassador.
Maile Carnegie, Group Executive Digital and Australia Transformation, ANZ, said: "ANZ is incredibly proud of Dylan's outstanding career and this mural is a great way to publicly acknowledge that.

“Dylan will go down as one of the all-time greats, while also tirelessly championing the effort to improve the lives of young Australians living with disabilities through his charity, the Dylan Alcott Foundation,” said Ms. Carnegie.

When visiting the ANZ mural, members of the public will have the opportunity to 'score themselves' a free gelato by iconic Melbourne ice-cream brand, Piccolina, all in the name of improving their financial wellbeing. Tennis fans are encouraged to take a five-minute survey, developed by ANZ, that helps everyone from young families to retirees better understand their current financial position.

ANZ Financial Adviser, Liana Cauchi, said: "We all know it feels good to get on top of your money, and we wanted a way for people to enjoy themselves whilst checking their Financial Wellbeing score. For me, a creamy gelato on a hot summer’s day always puts a smile on my face."

When speaking to the benefits of checking your Financial Wellbeing score, Liana explained: "The past two years have brought about unique challenges for Aussies and this has highlighted how quickly financial circumstances can change. At ANZ, we encourage Aussies to get on top of their finances, which starts with checking your score."

Members of the public can view the ANZ mural and score a free gelato, by checking their Financial Wellbeing score, at River Terrace on the walk from Federation Square to the Australian Open. The giveaways will run from 3-6 pm daily throughout the six-day activity, from 21-26 January, and are available to both ANZ and non ANZ customers.
