Celebrating several of the Sunshine Coast’s regional hinterland towns. Open Air Hinterland is a series of live music performances featuring some of Australia’s most loved musicians. This special concert is supported by the Front Up Chalkboard.

EMILY WURRAMARA
Originating from Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, the AIR award-winning and ARIA-nominated artist released an 11-track album Milyakburra, educating and informing in both English and Anindilyakwa languages. The critically acclaimed 2018 album features the emotive Lady Blue (over 6.5 million Spotify streams) and Black Smoke, amassing over 1.2 million Spotify streams and rotation on Triple J, ABC Local and 10 weeks in the AMRAP charts.

Emily is a six time Queensland Music Award winner, she was selected for the AMP Tomorrow Maker Award and won AIR Award’s Best Blues and Roots Album of the Year.

ANDREA KIRWIN
Andrea Kirwin is an Australian/Fijian singer/songwriter who has been performing on the Sunshine Coast for almost a decade and has released 5 independent Albums during that time through her independent record label, Peace Run Records. Her style is self-described as ‘Island Soul’ and she has built a sustainable music career from her heartfelt, funny and spellbinding live performances. Her recent Festival appearances include the National Folk Festival in Canberra and the Woodfordia Festival of Small Halls. Her latest album, ‘Bloom’ was a finalist in the World Music and Folk categories in the 2022 Queensland Music Awards and later this year she is heading overseas to showcase at various Music conferences in Canada and Portugal.

In her spare time Andrea champions the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct and programs events for Sunshine Coast Council and Caloundra Music Festival.
