Rebecca Barnard & Tony Hicks feature with JMQ Jazz Ensemble

ON MAY 19, JMQ Jazz Ensemble shall feature outstanding and versatile vocalist, REBECCA BARNARD with respected saxophonist, TONY HICKS, at the welcoming Golden Gate Hotel, South Melbourne.

The name 'Barnard' is well-known in the Australian Music & Jazz scene, across three generations, and Rebecca grew up listening to an eclectic mix of music and exposed to the best. While Rebecca is best know for her stunning versatility as a songwriter, band-leader and singer, she also visits her Jazz roots, with those great jazz standards that were a soundtrack to her youth.(*Her uncle, famous trumpeter Bob Barnard sadly died last week; her late father Len was a band leader and drummer; their mother and her grandmother, Kath, was Australia's first female big-band leader.)

She will joinTONY HICKS with JMQ Ensemble of Michael Harding (piano), Tony Floyd (drums),Ben Robertson (bass), John Montesante (trumpet & flugel). Doors 6:30pm. Jazz 7pm.
