On Saturday 3rd September at Payne Rd state school The Gap main oval, Sunlit Sounds presents 5 bands. SCRAPS, Dumb Things, The Far Outs, the Lackadasies and Minor Premiers with an Auslan interpreter. Sunlit sounds is a family-friendly outdoor casual not-for-profit music fest. There is beer & wine 4 sale and food trucks and kids free. All bar $ Payne Road State School P & C. Get there by 385 bus to the Gap Village shops then cross Enoggera creek on foot.
You can walk, segway or ride a carbon-neutral bike to our gig. You can bring a camping chair, rug. Proudly supported by the Lord Mayors Festival Funding/ via Brisbane City Council and Creative Communities. Sunlit was founded by Dr Suzie Parker (Scientist) and Roger Wills (Geologist). In the summer of 2016 Suzie and Roger read Andrew Stafford's "Pig City". In Pig City Andrew Stafford quotes The Go-Betweens' Robert Forster describing the Go-Betweens' sound as that "Striped Sunlight sound". The name "Sunlit Sounds" was born of that quote. Event conducted on lands of the Yuggera and Turrbal people. Their lands were never ceded. David Williams will conduct an acknowledgement of country. Auslan stage left will be providing interpreter service. Food includes London spuds, French Crepes, vegan, calamari, german sausages (Brathaus), coffee (saltair kombi bar) + more.
