The Kreutzer - Susan Collins in Recital

Beethoven’s magnificent Kreutzer Sonata will be performed by Susan Collins (violin) and Erin Sweetman (piano). Premiered nearly 200 years ago in 1803 by Beethoven himself on piano, with George Bridgetower, the piece was originally dedicated to Bridgetower. The dedication was later changed to honour the French violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer, but he would never play the work. We are privileged to hear this great work by brilliant violinist Susan Collins with acclaimed local pianist Erin Sweetman. This concert marks Susan's final appearance in the 2022 Newcastle Music Festival.
