Created by multi-winner Italian-Australian singer-songwriter Ilaria Crociani with the support of the City of Melbourne Arts Grants, “US GIRLS WON’T PUT ONE ANOTHER AWAY”, is a collection of new songs that want to capture the utterly fascinating lives and the voices of Little Lon's residents Sara Saqui, Madame Fraser, Ellisabeth Scott, Janet Dibben, Enrichetta Righettini and many more. This creative nonfictional music work is a voyage in time, through murders, filicides, successful brothels enterprises, executions, but also feminisms, and even redemption and healing through art.
Honouring these long forgotten women of the late 19th century, remembering their successful adventures or the heart-wrenching dramas they had to face during their times is not only a way to keeping them alive, but also an invaluable way to give us a perspective on our own lives.
Ilaria Crociani - voice
Mirko Guerrini - piano, accordion, saxes, duduk
Geoff Huges - guitars
Ben Robertson - double bass
Niko Schäuble - drums
Supported by the City of Melbourne Arts Grants.
