We welcome to the community to join us to celebrate World Ocean's Day. This event will be an opportunity to learn more about our incredible oceans and the marine life that call these places home.
We will be joined by a variety of guest speakers who specialise in different fields relating to the ocean and will also have a special viewing of the Plastics Ocean's Australasia condensed film.
Guest speakers joining us include:
- Dr Paola Magni: Aquatic Forensics specialist and scientific adviser to the Italian equivalent of CSI - RIS Delitti Imperfetti (Unit of Scientific Investigations: Imperfect Crimes).
- Ingrid Ward: Researcher on the cultural marine landscape and the importance of integrating marine ecological and cultural resources in our Oceans as part of the Oceans Decade
- Tom Crutchett: PhD candidate studying plastic contamination in the Perth Swan-Canning Estuary
There will be a marine life quiz for all to learn more about these incredible ecosystems and a catered morning tea will be included for all participants.
I hope you will join us for this exciting event!
