This is not a one woman show. This is two people, one alive and one dead, talking about being alone. By comparing the loneliness of a woman approaching 30 and a elderly (and very dead) man, it unpacks society's archaic views of loneliness and the driving forces behind making life altering choices in your late twenties. It explores themes of rejection, romance, reproductive choice, friendship, in(ter)dependence, loyalty, and heartbreak through one woman and a pair of feet sticking out from under her bed. Written and performed by El Kiley (As You Like it, The Marvelous Life of Carlo Gatti) and directed by Lucy Payne (Indigenous Trilogy, Exiles), Me and the D.O.G portrays what it’s like to be single when they say you should be getting married.
