It's a night of electrifying dance-inducing rock music at this month’s edition of Homegrown local originals at Wallaby Hotel, with beloved ultra-funky locals Super Massive supported by popular Sunshine Coast band Owls of Neptune.

Formed by Machine Gun Fellatio drummer/composer/producer Glenn Abbott and singer/songwriter Malina Hamilton-Smith, Super Massive is a visceral and exhilarating 50/50 blend of rock music and electronic dance sounds, spliced with vintage 70’s funk and disco influences, bedded seamlessly into a wall of multi-layered synths.

They perform live as a four-piece with a killer rhythm section comprising Glenn Abbott on drums and Chris Gilbert (Kevin Borich Express) on bass, together with Malina's evocative vocals and Tyr Kovacic (ex-Disco Disciples) on guitar.

Super Massive has toured on and off for over 10 years, playing alongside acts as diverse as Def FX, MGF, Heavy Wax, Deborah Conway, Bertie Blackman, Megan Washington, Boy & Bear and Murray Cook and his Soul Movers, and mainstage at festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Floriade Nightfest Closing Night, Cairns Festival, Australia Day in the Rocks, Surry Hills Festival and the 1000th Anniversay of Hanoi.

Owls of Neptune have earned a reputation in South East Queenland and Northern NSW as a captivating live band that fuses delicate melodies with the raw intensity of rock. Combining intense guitar riffs, intricate drum arrangments, technical bass and keys for a sound that is both gritty and melodic, ethereal and heartfelt, their music is full of raw energy and emotional depth.

Get ready for an epic night will have you up on your feet dancing!
