Adelaide International Kite Festival

The Adelaide International Kite Festival returns to the skies of Semaphore over the Easter long weekend in 2025; Saturday 19, Sunday 20, and Monday 21 April.

From 11am daily, the incredible kites will fill the skies with colour, movement and for some kites, their sheer size. Featuring whales, dragons, birds, horses and you never know, you might even see a pig fly, the skies really will be a sight to see. The large inflatable kites will be popular as always, with two and four string kites filling the spaces between.

This much-loved annual event will feature invited international and interstate guests including Festival regular Simon Chisnall from New Zealand as well as welcoming back many kite flyers from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania, in addition to members from throughout South Australia and Adelaide.

On the foreshore, the Festival Marketplace is returning with 40+ stallholders selling delicious food and drinks. You’ll also be able to enjoy shopping with a wide variety of homewares, art, jewellery, kids toys, and more. Kites will also be for sale to be flown in the public flying zone (southern side of the jetty)

This free event will again be managed by the Adelaide Kite Flyers Association and K Marie Events.

The Festival organizers are thrilled to collaborate with a variety of sponsors for the 2025 event, including major sponsor, City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Returning as a Platinum Sponsor, TJ’s Amusements will bring excitement to the foreshore with their rides, while Adbri has expanded its support this year also joining as a Platinum Sponsor. The Festival also welcomes back Gold Sponsors Dock One North and Kites2KITES, as well as Silver Sponsors Mason Gray Strange Auctioneers and Valuers, alongside new sponsor Banner Crew. Beyond Bank returns as a Bronze Sponsor, joined by Port Adelaide Plaza. Event suppliers include Melba’s Chocolates, supporting the Festival’s Easter Bunny visits, and Jasmine Rae Design, providing graphic design services.
