Event Details

As many you know, Curate's founder, Patricia Alessi, is also Australia's only Certified McClosky Voice Technician (CMVT).

CMVTs work on healthy efficiency of the voice, and this is more important now than ever post-pandemic with many experiencing zoom-fatigue, regular vocal loss and projection issues.

This half-day professional development session will provide an overview of vocal care as well as introduce registered participants to the McClosky Technique.

The goal of the McClosky Technique is functional efficiency: coordinating the different parts of the vocal mechanism so that, whether in song or in speech, each part of the body is doing its proper job, with little or no effort wasted.

CMVTs teach a series of exercises to release counter-productive tensions, a stance that promotes efficient, easy breathing, and an easy onset of tone.

This is the perfect introduction for those of you whom are looking to address healthy vocal use and using your voice to the best of its ability.
