An evening of song and story, traditions and transformation.

Before the great floods, she wandered the lands. When everything we know is gone, she will remain. She is Earth, she is ancestor. We have not forgotten her stories. It is time to tell them again.

Cailleach is a doom-folk duo featuring hypnotic vocals, guitar, smallpipes, and live looping in a powerful sound inspired by the likes of Lankum, Brighde Chaimbeul, and Eoghan O Ceannabhain. Cailleach explores the shadows of colonial Australian life: what it means to belong to a stolen land, the wrecking of soil and climate, and ancestral songs of resistance, grief, and healing.

Rennie Pearson is one of Australasia’s leading Celtic musicians, weaving together a finely crafted show of soaring melodies, captivating songs, and storytelling steeped in rich tradition. His performances feature wooden flute, Irish whistles, guitar, fiddle, bodhrán, and voice, which he uses to transport the listener on a journey through this ancient music.
