Melbourne International Animation Festival

The Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF) is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is marking the occasion with an unforgettable event. This milestone year features 32 screenings showcasing the best new animations from around the world, with a dynamic mix of styles and stories, including the Character Study Drill Down, Digital Extremes, Abstract Showcase, Hi-Fi Design, and more. MIAF will also take you on a global tour with highlights from Estonia, Zagreb-based Bonobo Studio, Russian school-studio Shar, and Pannonia Film.

In addition to the screenings, special events include a look back at MIAF’s past with archive films, the return of the International Student Animation Festival, and the first-ever Women in Animation Connect Event in Melbourne, promoting diversity and inclusion. The Sunday Spotlight will feature six talented animators from Aardman Academy, while beloved traditions like the Australian Showcase, Meet the Filmmakers sessions, Late Night Bizarre, and Best of the Fest return.
