Welcome to the wonderful and wild world of prop-making! Whether you're an emerging artist, an independent performer, or a DIY enthusiast, this hands-on, interactive workshop will introduce you to the art of prop-making… on a budget!
Hosted by the experienced and award winning theatrical producer Jason Cavanagh, we'll explore a range of techniques, from papier-mâché to woodworking, mold-making, latex casting, fabric sewing, basic electronics… anything to get the job done! You'll get a crash course in the fundamentals, a dash of theory, plus plenty of inspiration to make props that are fit for purpose.
Got a specific prop you need help with? Bring it along and we can work on it together, or else just bring yourself and go with the flow. Either way Jason will offer some hands-on guidance, to help give you the basic skills you need to create the right prop for the right situation. No experience is no problem, all you need is a willingness to learn.
