Environmental Film Festival is back, running 16-23 October and celebrating our 15th year by returning to the cinema where we first started, Palace Kino!
Saturday, the 18th of October, offers a day of screenings, starting with a morning shorts session where you’re encouraged to meet us for a free hot drink and a chat before the screening.
Exploring ideas of urban living, city nature, and how humans and our environment are intertwined, ‘People, Place, Planet shorts’ offers a unique perspective on environmental cinema.
Through cine-poetry, dance, experimental art, documentary, and the journey of a plane tree being meticulously moved just 72 meters, these films ask us to reconsider what our environment means to us and what we mean to our environment.
After the films, enjoy a filmmaker panel discussing what it's like behind-the-scenes making environmental cinema in Australia today.
Environmental Films Australia is a volunteer-run community group based in Naarm (Melbourne) that promotes action through cinema, community and connection. We prioritise climate and environments through film, provide platforms for artists to showcase their work, and create space for people to connect and exchange solutions.
