The final concert of the 2025 Unveiled series from Perth’s own Mirabilis Collective – intergenerational women performing intimate classical music!
This performance will feature the work of contemporary Australian composers and songwriters, including a world premiere (commissioned by Mirabilis Collective), original works for small chamber orchestra, and reimaginings of popular songs by Kate Miller-Heidke, Stiff Gins and Angie McMahon.
The Southern Stars programme includes the first performance of a West Australian collaboration entitled Love. Composer Katherine Potter has set poetry by Caitlin Maling to music. The poem, which explores the contradictions of motherhood, comes from Maling’s 2023 collection Spore or Seed.
What to expect from a Mirabilis Collective performance? A wide range of musical genres, and nothing longer than five minutes (usually). The stories behind the music we play and the women who’ve written it. And enjoyment among both audience and performers.
