Smart meets silly in The Peer Revue, where cutting-edge research fuels improv comedy. Each show, a different superstar researcher tells stories from their research, which will inspire a cast of talented improvisers to create brand new, unscripted comedy.
For what might be our final show ever, we are welcoming research impact expert Dr Wade Kelly. Wade is Senior Lecturer in Researcher Development, Engagement and Impact at Deakin University. He’s no stranger to science comedy, having programmed the ‘evidence-based entertainment’ show Nerd Nite for more than a decade across three cities, and appearing in live research-themed events including The Sound of Science and Sci Fight: Science Comedy Debate. His book The Impactful Academic ruminates on how academics can make the world a little better through their research. Join us as we send Peer Revue off with a bang!
The Peer Revue is a hilarious celebration of science, philosophy, history, art, and all things academic. You’ll laugh, and you also might learn.
Presented by Cornershop Comedy, a not-for-profit comedy theatre. At least 80% of Cornershop Comedy show profits go directly to our artists, and the rest is reinvested in the community, including helping subsidise scholarship placements in our comedy workshops.
