Smart meets silly in The Peer Revue, where cutting-edge research fuels improv comedy. Each show, a different superstar researcher tells stories from their research, which will inspire a cast of talented improvisers to create brand new, unscripted comedy.
When the stakes are high and the facts are fuzzy, how do you know what to believe, and what you're just being led to believe?
This month at The Peer Revue, we’re joined by Ashley Barnett, Argumentation Theorist (and Magician) at the University of Melbourne. Ash trains decision makers and analysts to think critically in the face of uncertainty, deception, and distraction. He’ll take us into the world of attention, misdirection, and the ways our brains can be tricked into seeing what isn’t there or missing what is.
Then, our improvisers will bring the ideas to life in a night of sharp, spontaneous comedy.
What you see might not be what you get.
The Peer Revue is a hilarious celebration of science, philosophy, history, art, and all things academic. You’ll laugh, and you also might learn.
Presented by Cornershop Comedy, a not-for-profit comedy theatre. At least 80% of Cornershop Comedy show profits go directly to our artists, and the rest is reinvested in the community, including helping subsidise scholarship placements in our comedy workshops.
