For the first time since its creation, Franco Zeffirelli’s monumental production of Verdi’s AIDA will be staged outside of Verona, Italy. In a worldwide exclusive, this operatic masterpiece will come to Adelaide Oval for two performances only on 5 & 6 February 2026.

This once-in-a-generation event will feature:

Jonas Kaufmann and Angel Blue leading one of the most stellar operatic casts ever assembled in the southern hemisphere.

The full Arena di Verona company 389 international performers and staff, joined by 300 local cast and crew, including State Opera South Australia.

The opulent sets, costumes, and grandeur of Zeffirelli’s authentic Arena di Verona production, brought to life under the stars at Adelaide Oval.

This marks a major cultural milestone for Australia, positioning Adelaide as the host of one of the most significant operatic events in our history.
