Born to British immigrants and residing in Australia for the last 12 years, comedian and actor Richard Mealey (Elephant Rope, A Twist of Fate) isn't a ""real American"". Sure, he loves baseball, fried cheese, and hitting those hard ""R""s in door, drawer, and poor. But surely he contains multitudes beyond these things!

After all, the America that exists today isn't the same one he left... right?

'Disunited States"" is a new work that explores Richard's disillusionment with being an American, and the growing unease of no longer having a real home. Filled with characters from different slices of Americana, he exposes truths both obvious and hidden. Asking the questions we've all been wondering; Why can't they give up their guns? What's wrong with believing science? And why can't they drive through a simple roundabout?

Directed by Barney Pollock (King of Pigs, Thank God You're Here), ""Disunited States"" is a character showcase that not only mocks the implosion of an empire, but also serves as a reminder that everything America eventually finds it's way Down Under...
