Rassputin’s Wet Posse’s alternative to Eurovision The Crazy, The Party and the biggest celebration of Australia’s performing arts in MICF!
With none of the corporate greed.
As SBS and the EBU continue to fail the audience’s calls to boycott Israel in the competition, Rassputin’s Wet Posse are providing an alternative. We want the Crazy, the Party and the joyous celebration of the fringes of queer and alternative entertainment, but we can’t continue to support the official competition. So we’re bringing back our flagship Parody show - but this time we’re putting the spotlight on local musicians and singers who will team up with groups of aerialists, dancers and performance artists from an array of backgrounds to show disenfranchised ESC fans that you can still find the magic right here in our own backyard - and feel much better about supporting the artists involved!
We’re ticking the boxes with Pop Bangers galore, Opera and Cheesy hosting by everyone’s favourite Dandy Baritone - Adore Handel, all the Drama of the 2020 movie that saw us through the Covid cancellation, Gothic Bellydancers with a sword dancing guitarist and even local Pirate Metal Band - Projectile Dysfunction. Plus so much more!
The local flavour will have you feeling like you’re getting to see our own National Selection - and if you’re lucky you might get a place on the Jury (Find the golden eggs in the intermission and you’ll earn your spot, this show falls on Easter Sunday after all) - But will the voting be fair or will this show fall to Dick-tators as well? (It wouldn’t be Rassputin’s Wet Posse without the Wet Willies - as seen in Tash York’s Chaos Cabaret and backing up Sheldon Reiley at the NGV Leigh Bowery Ball)
Tickets on sale with the MICF general launch.
