Woodstock 57th Anniversary: Celebrating the Music and Moments That Defined a Generation! Why do we continue to celebrate a music festival that happened over 50 years ago? At the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, 500,000 people gathered — and the world listened — as a generation found its identity and values through Peace, Love, and Rock ’n’ Roll.

Set against the backdrop of the anti-Vietnam War movement, the peace movement, student activism, and the rise of the Black Panther Party, conservative America had seemingly declared war on its own youth.
