Seminal UK psychedelic bands Primal Scream and Spiritualized head up the huge list of impressive acts set to play this year's Meredith Music Festival, taking place from December 7-9 at Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre.
Joining them on the bill is the genre-hopping Four Tet, the not-so-elegantly wasted Turbonegro, pop maverick Grimes, the now-legendary Sunnyboys, Syrian dance star Omar Souleyman, plus a slew of other acts, including the following:
Regurgitator, Royal Headache, Big Jay McNeely, Chet Faker, Rahzel & DJ JS-1, Pond, Twerps, Saskwatch, Hot Snakes, Snakadaktal, DJ Yamantaka Eye (from Japanese band The Boredoms), J.B. Smoove, Earthless, Toot Toot Toots, The Meredith Sky Show (lights and that), Brous, Bitter Sweet Kicks, Otologic, Fraser A Gorman and Big Harvest, Angus Sampson, and regulars The Town Bikes and City Of Ballarat Municipal Brass Band... Plus they'll be announcing more acts in a month or so. Phew!
As usual, this year's event is BYO, $279+bf and has a "No Dickheads Policy" - which shouldn't be an issue considering the stylistic bent of this lineup.
For tickets, enter the ballot before 10pm, Tuesday August 21. Round One has been drawn, with results in inboxes today. Second round results are out August 23. Good luck!
