The Monkees are planning a tour of the US this November with their original lineup, the first in fifteen years.

The shows will also be the groups’ first since the death of singer Davy Jones, who died in February of a heart attack.

Before Jones’ passing, bandmate Peter Tork was reportedly planning a reunion tour. “We were looking forward to more tours,” said Tork. “But those won't happen — at least not with Davy.”

Michael Nesmith, who last played with the band in 1997, told Rolling Stone that the tour was well timed. "This seems like a good time to do this – the right time," says Nesmith. "Who knows when we will get another chance?

The Monkees will perform a selection of their biggest hits, album tracks and music from their film Head (1968) and comedic TV series that ran from 1966–1968.

A multimedia show filled with rare films and photographs will accompany the music, while paying homage to Davy Jones.
