Sideshows announcement frenzy from Laneway Festival and others

They say when it rains it pours, and no more is that true than when sideshow tours are announced (and also when it actually rains so much it pours).

Today, Laneway Festival sideshow tours have been announced, with a string of artists playing the festivals around the country yelling over the top of one another to let you all know there are bonus chances to see their deal live.

So far, the major running theme includes Sydney and Melbourne shows only (bar Of Monsters and Men), but watch this space because if you get on a horse, you may as well ride it, or, if you're in Perth/Adelaide/somewhere for a festival, you may as well play a sideshow (not promising anything though).

The Laneway artists on the sideshow announcement bandwagon include:
- Bat For Lashes supported by Kirin J Callinan in Sydney and Melbourne
- Cloud Nothings in Sydney and Melbourne with Violent Soho as main support
- Jessie Ware in Sydney and Melbourne
- Divine Fits in Sydney and Melbourne
- Yeasayer in Sydney and Melbourne
- Polica in Sydney and Melbourne
- Of Monsters and Men in Sydney, Byron Bay and Melbourne

Other sideshows unveiled today include Rodriguez, doing a string of shows not at Byron Bay Bluesfest (bonus conspiracy theory round: was that "Searching For Sugar Man" doco actually just well played promotional material?) in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.

If you're not gonna be at Pyramid Festival, there's a chance to check out English quartet, The Cribs, who have broken the south east Australian sideshow announcement pattern and are playing in Sydney and Brisbane.
